Forensic analyses

The concept of IT forensics focuses primarily on the approach of detecting crimes using IT systems. The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) defines IT forensics as follows:

"IT forensics is the strictly methodical analysis of data on data carriers and in computer networks for the purpose of investigating incidents, including the possibilities of strategic preparation, in particular from the point of view of the plant operator of an IT system". - BSI, IT Forensics Guide

The Goal

The aim of IT forensics is to determine precisely which criminal acts have taken place on an IT system and who has caused them or is responsible for them. Various analysis, investigation and evidence preservation techniques are used to investigate and document suspicious processes. The digital evidence obtained in the course of the investigation and evaluation must meet the requirements of the courts.

Our services

We conduct IT forensic investigations at your premises and represent your business interests to the full extent. However, our approach is always based on the principle of proportionality, i.e. we only process data and information that is suitable, necessary and appropriate for prosecuting or uncovering the crime or problem. In this way, we ensure that we do not violate the data protection and personal rights of the data subjects.
