Trainings and sessions
The training of employees in data protection is particularly important. This is also stated in Art. 39 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR, where "awareness-raising and training of staff involved in processing operations, and the related audits" is regulated as one of the tasks of the data protection officer.
Data protection is everyday life
Employees of a company work with personal data on a daily basis. These activities are generally of importance in terms of data protection law. Customer, employee and supplier or business partner data are involved in almost every business activity. This often applies to all areas of the company, from marketing to HR, from R&D to sales. Any handling of personal data that does not comply with data protection laws involves risks. On the one hand, it is a compliance issue. The company runs the risk of being sanctioned by a measure taken by the responsible supervisory authority.
Data protection training instead of data scandal
On the other hand - and this is by no means a lesser risk - unlawful handling of personal data can endanger the image and reputation of the company. The media follow "data scandals" closely and report on them. Breach of trust in a (long-term) customer relationship must be avoided at all costs. And here, the employees play a key role.
